SUMMER READ PROGRAM AND SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM….

"Mission: Possible!" and "Feed My Lambs" For all children who have completed Kindergarten through 4th grade….this exciting summer program teaches math, spelling, handwriting, reading, Christian songs and dances, Bible verse memorization, positive reinforcement, mentoring and how to develop a new or closer relationship with Jesus Christ. The program goes for 8 weeks during the summer, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning from 9-12 noon. Between 150-200 children attend weekly. Local teachers direct the program and youth groups from area churches serve a mentors. It is a blessing from both sides! Contact Tammy Smith, Client Service Director for more information.

37 Students had perfect attendance and attended the Summer end banquet. Donating school supplies and backpacks; Second Baptist North, donating quilts; Kingwood Quilt Guild, donating clothing vouchers from Target and supplies; National Charity League-Livable Forest, donating books; Humble Area First Baptist Church, donating supplies and projector; CHATA Home Schoolers, donating computers for math; Administaff, Inc and donating money for supplies; Kingwood HI-Nabor. Shoe vouchers from Payless and clothing vouchers from Target were purchased by a grant awarded from Entergy.

Mission: Possible!" is followed by--

"Feed My Lambs" preparing lunches for the students and their families three mornings a week. This lunch program is managed by 12 local churches and organizations and has expanded to include a local apartment complex year round. The program's success is judged by an increase from 3,000 lunches prepared in 2002 to 15,000 lunches during 2007.
