A Generous Week at the Mission

Pick-A-Buddy Pickleball

We had an amazing day on Saturday at our Pick-A-Buddy Pickleball Event. Thank you to everyone who came out to compete, connect, and support Mission Northeast. Because of your involvement, we were able to make a meaningful impact on our Buddy Bag program, helping provide weekend meals for local children in need.

If you weren’t able to join us, you can still give anytime.

Volunteer spotlight: David Rotella

David has been faithfully serving in our warehouse at Mission Northeast since 2023, and he has quickly become an invaluable part of our team. His consistently positive attitude brings energy and encouragement to everyone around him.

One of the things that makes David so special is the way he connects with others. Whether he’s chatting with clients or working alongside fellow volunteers, he goes out of his way to make each person feel seen, valued, and welcomed.

David truly has a gift for creating a joyful and uplifting environment, and his presence does not go unnoticed. He is a hidden treasure at Mission Northeast, and we are so grateful for the heart, dedication, and kindness he brings to our mission each week.

Highlighting generosity

We are so grateful to Janet Martin and the Assistance League of Montgomery County for their generous donation of brand new clothing and jeans. This gift will make a meaningful difference for the individuals and families we serve, helping provide dignity, confidence, and essential support.

Insperity’s Corporate Citizen Day

This week, Mission Northeast also took part in Insperity’s Corporate Citizen Day. We hosted a booth alongside many other nonprofits from our area and surrounding communities.

We had a great time connecting with others who are passionate about making a difference. Events like this are a reminder that we are stronger together, and that it takes a united community to create lasting impact.

Personal care items

Full-size 3-in-1 shampoo, toothpaste, and soap are basics many of us take for granted. For our neighbors, they bring dignity, confidence, and comfort. Your donations help families feel cared for.

Prayer points

  • Pray for families receiving food and essentials. Lift up each family who will receive food, clothing, and personal care items this week. Pray that these resources would meet real needs and bring a sense of relief, dignity, and peace to their homes.
  • Pray for open doors and new opportunities. Pray for those seeking jobs, education, or stability. Ask that God would open the right doors, provide clear direction, and connect them with opportunities that lead to long-term growth and independence.
  • Pray for meaningful moments of connection. Pray that every interaction between volunteers, staff, and clients would be filled with kindness and compassion. Ask that simple conversations would become moments where people feel truly seen, heard, and valued.
  • Pray for continued provision. Lift up Mission Northeast’s ongoing needs. Pray for an abundance of donations, resources, and support so that the mission can continue serving families without interruption.

Anyone can be a volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of this place. Bring a church, school, business, civic group, or your own family for one morning or a standing week.

On your own, there is room in the food pantry, the clothing center, client services, and special projects. We will find a spot that fits.
